Акцията била посветена на втората годишнина от израелската операция в Газа през зимата на 2008-09 г., когато загинаха хиляди палестинци.
На 27 декември на 12 автобуса трябваше да се появят рекламни плакати с обръщение към американците: "Израелски военни престъпления: за това отиват вашите данъци"("Israeli war crimes: your tax dollars at work").
На рекламата имало снимки на палестински деца пред разрушени от бомбардировки жилища.
Местните власти получили много жалби от жителите на града и правозащитници, които смятат кампанията за антиизраелска и антиамериканска.
В крайна сметка акцията не била допусната на основание, че ще попречи на работата на автобусите.
Произраелски организации от своя страна предложили да направят рекламна кампания, но срещу групировката "Ислямски джихад" - "Палестинските военни престъпления".
В отговор активисти на SMAC излезли на протест пред общината със залепени уста. Някои носели и забранените рекламни плакати.

27 декабря на 12 местных автобусах должны были появиться рекламные плакаты с обращением к американцам: "Израильские военные преступления: на это идут ваши налоги" ("Israeli war crimes: your tax dollars at work"). На рекламе были изображены палестинские дети, стоящие перед домами, разрушенными от бомбежки.
Местные власти еще до проведения кампании получили многочисленные жалобы от местного населения и правозащитников, которые охарактеризовали ее как "антиизраильскую" и "антиамериканскую". В итоге 23 декабря глава округа Доу Константин (Dow Constantine) запретил к размещению эту рекламу, отметив, что она повлечет за собой перебои в работе автобусов.
После этого произраильские организации предложили провести другую рекламную кампанию по аналогии с предыдущей против группировки "Исламский джихад" – "Палестинские военные преступления". Активисты из SMAC, в свою очередь, вышли на демонстрацию к зданию администрации округа. Как пишет The Seattle Times, у некоторых из них были заклеены рты, кто-то из митингующих держал рекламный плакат.
В SMAC ранее отмечали, что с помощью данной кампании организация хотела привлечь внимание к проблеме равноправия. После запрета и проведенной демонстрации активисты выразили надежду на то, что власти изменят свое решение.
Акция SMAC была приурочена к двухлетней годовщине израильской операции "Литой свинец", которая проходила в секторе Газа зимой 2008-2009 годов. В ходе операции погибли более тысячи палестинцев.

King County Executive Dow Constantine on Thursday temporarily suspended all non-commercial advertising on Metro Buses following complaints about a planned bus ad that criticized Israel.
The ads from the Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign read "Israeli War Crimes Your Tax Dollars At Work."
In a statement, Constantine said he approved an interim policy that bans accepting any new non-commercial ads. The anti-Israel ads, which were to start appearing on buses in Seattle after Christmas, have been rejected, Constantine said.
"The escalation of this issue from one of 12 local bus placards to a widespread and often vitriolic international debate introduces new and significant security concerns that compel reassessment," Constantine said. "We cannot and would not favor one point of view over another, so the entire category of non-commercial advertising will be eliminated until a permanent policy can be completed that I can propose to the King County Council for adoption."
A new, permanent policy could be ready by the end of January.
County Councilman Peter von Reichbauer on Monday wrote to Constantine about his concerns, saying he'd been contacted by people who were worried about the ads from the Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign.
Ed Mast, a spokesman for the Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign, has said the ads were meant to get people talking about Mideast peace issues, not as an anti-Israel statement.
King County Metro's current policy about bus advertising restricts messages about pornography, tobacco and alcohol and images and material that could threaten public safety.

Activists whose bus-side advertisements criticizing Israel's attacks on Palestinians were blocked by King County Executive Dow Constantine said Friday they will take action against the county but stopped short of promising a lawsuit.
The day before, Constantine suspended all non-commercial advertising on Metro buses after receiving complaints about the ad, which read "Israeli War Crimes Your Tax Dollars at Work." Constantine contended that the signs presented "significant security concerns."
During a news conference Friday outside the King County Administration Building in downtown Seattle, Ed Mast, spokesman for the Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign that sponsored the ads, said Constantine folded to "bullying, intimidation and threats" offered by a pro-Israel organization.
"We did not create the disruption," Mast said. "Those who wanted the ad silenced created this disruption."
Neil Fox, a Seattle lawyer and supporter of the ad, described Constantine's action as "absurd" and "offensive to the Constitution." He wondered aloud whether the executive's move meant advertisements supporting animal rights or political candidates would be barred from the buses.
